OWC lost my business 5 years ago with their shoddy customer service, poorly packaged shipments and their outright refusal to replace bad RAM.

I have only dealt with OWC a couple of times (G3/300 daughtercard upgrade and hard drive). But I had no problem either time.
I’ve had great luck with OWC over the last four years. Three external FW drives, RAM, some iPod stuff. Shipping was fast, though it doesn’t hurt they are a suburban Chicago company. The company newsletter is interesting, too, on occasion.
I just got a battery replacement for my 3G iPod, works great, didnt have to wait long

By the way, I’ve used 18004memory.com and I’ve been very happy with them. I have gotten bad ram, but it took less than 5 minutes on the phone to get an RMA, shipped back the old ram and had the new ram in hand the next week.
Just buy a Dell.
Yesterday some guy named CLYDE kept insisting that it cost $600 for 2 gigs of RAM..
I kept trying to tell him that Apple charged $300 and that you could find it for less at crucial, kingston, chipmerchant, etc…
He didn’t believe me..

What I want to know is, why does Apple charge $300 to bump an iMac or Mac mini from 1x512MB (iMac) or 2x256MB (mini) up to 2x1GB, and charge $500 to bump a MBP from 1x512MB to 2x1GB? It’s the exact same RAM for all 3 machines. That’s f’d up.
HD upgrades are more expensive for the MBP too.

LOL – the only way to get a decent PC is to build it yourself. If you aren’t into building your own computers out of good parts, I would say buy a Mac.
