  1. I’ve had great luck with OWC over the last four years. Three external FW drives, RAM, some iPod stuff. Shipping was fast, though it doesn’t hurt they are a suburban Chicago company. The company newsletter is interesting, too, on occasion.

  2. By the way, I’ve used 18004memory.com and I’ve been very happy with them. I have gotten bad ram, but it took less than 5 minutes on the phone to get an RMA, shipped back the old ram and had the new ram in hand the next week.

  3. What I want to know is, why does Apple charge $300 to bump an iMac or Mac mini from 1x512MB (iMac) or 2x256MB (mini) up to 2x1GB, and charge $500 to bump a MBP from 1x512MB to 2x1GB? It’s the exact same RAM for all 3 machines. That’s f’d up.

HD upgrades are more expensive for the MBP too.
