“Dell has dropped its line of hard drive-based MP3 players, but it’s taken more than a month for anyone to notice. The absence of the Pocket Digital Jukebox players from Dell’s website was spotted last week by Bloomberg. The news agency asked Dell about it and learned the products were canned late December/early January, it reported,” Tony Smith reports for The Register.
“Apple continues to dominate the market. In the US, it has a market share of around 70 per cent. Creative and Samsung have under ten per cent apiece, so there’s not much left for all the other player providers, of whom there are many, Dell among them,” Smith reports.

This reminds us of when RealNetworks “Harmony” hack stopped working on iPods, but nobody noticed for a month and a half either.

Nobody cares
Dell had a music player? .. hm..
Magic word: under!
Oh, that is too damn funny!
Awe man, that sucks. I had one in my shopping cart, but I was waiting to see if they’d be giving them away for free.
MW: LOOK, as in look ma’, no competition.
I care
1…2…3…
OK I’m over it
Didn’t they kill this thing years ago?
That is pathetic but expected. Make a crappy product and nobody will by it.
Then again, that doesn’t explain Windows…
Well, it’s just a fad anyway!

I’m shocked over this news. After all, Michael Dell is so cool, edgy and hip. If they had come preloaded with pan flute and accordion music, they would have sold more.
Does this hurt Creative in any way? I could’ve sworn I’d read that the DJ was just a rebranded Creative player.
Dell should return the money to shareholders…
Wait a minute I think I know that company. Dell…..
Dell…
Isn’t that a brand of bananas?
Ampar, where were you when I needed you!

Geez! the damn thing was DOA anyway!! what took those dumbasses so long to realize that NO ONE WANTED THEIR CRAPPY, POS[/B] PRODUCT?! you’d thing that the single digit sales figures would have been a clue but NOOOOOOOOOO!!
Companies other than Apple should stop poluting the environment with their junk. Unless of course it can genuinley compete.
Wow, even DellRumors.com didn’t catch wind of this. They sure know how to keep things under wraps.

I didnt even know there was such a thing as Dell Rumors.com !
But I can see their last update was back in July..
