  1. Last year at this time, we had rumors of the “headless Mac.” (MDN wrote an opinion, “Please Apple, let it be true.”)

We also had rumors of a flash-based iPod. I remember people speculating on the designs. The buzz was kinda cool.

Anyways, the rumors are fun, and most people here know they often are just that.

Hmmm…I wonder if any sites out there are abuzz with speculation about what Dell or Lenovo might get up to next year…????

  2. Now that Vista has the transparency, drop shadows, scalable icons, window animations, etc. (some of which OS X had for years), it’s time to see Apple’s next iteration of UI. Quite honestly, OS X is looking fuzzy & old compared to the 120DPI desktop in the new Vista 5270 build. As much as it pains me to say it, the Vista UI really looks good. (this is hands on, not screenies..I’m a beta tester) At high resolutions, the fonts and icons are incredible, like “touchable”.
I hope Apple has some demos of what’s in store for Leopard, as without an improvement in display/UI rendering, it’s going to lose it’s historical advantage in A/B comparisons, IMHO.

  6. OSX User & Vista Tester….

Ok…. Longhorn / Vista … or whatever they end up calling it … may be pretty…

… but, aren’t you still talking about putting lipstick ..

    .. on a pig ?

    ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”LOL” style=”border:0;” />

MDN MW =”carried” … as in … oops, i musta got carried away !

  7. I heard a rumor (of course from a “reliable source”)Apple will introduce the successor to the Newton – finally! The new device, code named Einstein (think about it), will combine PDA, wireless phone, media player, etc.

    ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”big surprise” style=”border:0;” />

  8. OSX User & Vista Tester

Good luck with the final product when Vista comes out. No matter what, you cannot compare Vista to OSX. I bet you that vista is gonna be a POS…..

My word “see” as in We’ll see it all in the end.

  9. RUMOR: At Macworld SF this January, Apple will introduce a golden iPod Dildo that will allow wireless downloading of video and music while endlessly allowing you to pleasure yourself. Higher end models will allow you to see the future and wash your dishes. Steve will also announce development of the iPod Kitchen Sink, which will revolutionize human civilization by including everything that has ever been invented. An anonymous source quoted Steve Jobs as saying “whole cities will be built around it.”

  10. All this crap about iPods and phones, it’s getting old. More iPods? So what, enough already.
Apple is allegedly releasing a new operating system in ~9 months, yet we have zero information on why we should even care. Instead, more hyped up disposable iThings.

  11. Funny how none of the rumors include anything about what we’ll almost certainly see, which is new/updated software. iLife ’06 and iWork 06 anyone? Since I’m sitting in front of a dual 2.5 ghz G5 and a 23″ Cinema Screen, I’m only excited about the new hardware from a voyeuristic standpoint. I’m really looking forward to new software though!

  12. Re the iPod Dildo, there is already something of the same — a pleasurizer that vibrates in synch with the sounds on your iPod. Don’t have the link but shouldn’t be difficult to find…

    ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  13. Mac User,

Leopard isnt supposed to be out until the end of ’06 /beginning of ’07. I’m not sure where your 9 months is coming from. Steve himself said to expect a preview of Leopard at WWDC in mid ’06

  14. Yep, Apple doesn’t care about the Mac anymore. That’s why they’re investing millions of dollars into switching to Intel, right? The iPod makes up probably less than 10% of their product line, the rest is all Mac oriented, be it hardware, or Mac apps.

    Ridiculous.
