  1. Los Angeles Computer Store, which oddly enough, is in Anaheim, is THE best place for Mac stuff in all of OC. Apple stores are there to sell APPLE products, obviously, so they they’ll never steer you away from an Apple branded merch. no matter how cheesy it may be (e.g. iPod Socks).

  2. Burlington, Mass. had a grand opening last weekend, but I didn’t know about it until Monday.

Brea – To Micro Center’s credit, they’ve never done that either. They have a seperate Mac room, with sales guys who usually know the product. Although it’s still nothing like shopping at an Apple Store.

  3. Yes, Mac Guy – i, the other steve jobs, will be there.

and as for LA Computer Store – they are a good place – but holy mackrel, are they in a completely obscure place, despite the 20 foot tall blazing white Apple logo you can see from the freeway.

But i dare anyone to be able to find the place without getting directions.

They do tend to have anything iPod first and continuously, but they bat about .750 for me. I often know more than a few people in there – while Pat B. there is the most knowledgeable person i’ve ever met…

Ask for Pat, and you’ll be fine.

but yes, I will be there tomorrow at the Brea opening

  4. “Los Angeles Computer Store, which oddly enough, is in Anaheim […]”

    Hey, so are the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim… ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”tongue wink” style=”border:0;” />

“[…] is THE best place for Mac stuff in all of OC.”

Ah, but here’s the question: Do they have the obscure stuff? If so, I’ll check ’em out–I work in Anaheim.

For example, I’m attempting to attach as many colorimeter/spectrophotometers to my Mac as humanly possible (I’m at 7, at the moment, with two new ones coming in soon) so I’ve been sucking up Keyspan’s USB/Serial adapters. I needed a new one about a month ago, called MicroCenter, and they had them in stock. Picked one up on the way home.

An Apple Store with something like this? Hell, no. If it doesn’t attach to an iPod or have an Apple label, they don’t carry it.
