  1. Dear MDN,
    I enjoy my daily read of your site and I appreciate your need of the advertisaing dollar, but I must say the ads that also include audio REALLY ANNOY me. If you could avoid these it would make me one happier customer ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  2. LandLord,

    We have a no audio ads policy, but sometimes they are mistakenly not marked as such by 3rd party ad networks. Please tell us more (please use email – click “MacDailyNews Webmaster” above) about the ad (content, size, location on the page), so that we can track it down and suspend it.

    Thank you in advance.

  3. Do what I did, edit your host config file and add the offending URL according to these instructions

    This is mine and I haven’t got a annoying problem since

    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
    ::1 localhost

    MDN word: “Further” like no more further problems from “fastclick”

  4. … Or you could do what I’ve done… if you use Safari. Get the free SafariBlock and just add offending hostnames to it. It also blocks flash ads if you choose. You can use handy wildcards to cover a range of hostnames etc. As the software’s author notes, SafariBlock is similar to the popular Firefox extension AdBlock. It installs as a preference pane in Safari, and you use a contextual menu item to add items.
