  1. WTF?

This was not a good idea. And had a little too much money behind it.

For God’s sake, there are people dealing with the aftermath of a hurricane and people are pissing away money on this crap? Where’s the humanity?

  2. nycguy, that’s exactly what I was thinking. The problem is that not even dorks can identify with “Mitch” from the videos so I guess it appeals to no one.

Dell needs to consider this, they are a bargain basement company. They appeal to the tight budget.

Some consider Apple a boutique company; but they definitely appeal to people who are willing to spend a little more for quality and experience.

There is NO WAY Dell can compete for the iPod crowd with shiat like that.

  3. One of the segments says you can sync like a semi-professional. SEMI! They’re basically saying professionals wouldn’t dream of using their crap.

The shuffle is a limited product – Apple admit that and have never sold it as anything more, in fact they’ve purposely marketed it as such. This ditty thing is just appalling.

What amazes me is the total lack of any sort of taste in these designs. The ditty would be infinitely better if they made it all one colour – silver. At the moment there is the silver body, the blue screen and then the coloured cap thing-a-mies it’s just a mess. They just don’t get it.

Looking at that site pains me.

  4. The only thing I can think is that Dell has conceded that they will not be able to beat ‘cool’, so they are positioning it as the ‘uncool’ alternative.

The best way to establish yourself in a market is to act like you are competing with the players.

But they really put themselves out there on this one.
