Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 ships for Mac OS X

Aspyr Media, Inc. today announced they have shipped the Mac version of Electronic Arts’ popular golf game, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005. The title was developed for the Mac by Aspyr Studios, Aspyr’s internal development team, under license from EA.

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 challenges you to take on the man who has changed golf forever – Tiger Woods. After making a name for yourself on the Tour, tee off against legends including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan to see how you stack up against the all-time greats.

The revolutionary new Tiger Proofing course alteration technology allows you to modify course dynamics and call out your PGA TOUR rivals by adding lengthier Tiger Tees, tighter fairways, dramatic undulations to greens, deeper bunkers, higher rough, and more. An enhanced Game Face featuring non-proportional bone scaling and texture blending creates incredibly realistic looks, right down to the bags under your eyes.

  1. Golf ain’t such a bad game once you break the stigma towards it and actually give it a go. I always thought that golf was for old folks with too much money and time on their hands… but its actually pretty good fun whacking the ball really far… and the sound of a clean impact is just sublime! There’s alot of challenge in just getting the swing right. At first, its really aggrivating to keep missing the tiny ball, but once you go get a clean hit, it makes it all so worthwhile!
    As for the videogame above, I’ll definitely be getting it, and I think Aspyr deserve credit for trying to bring in a wide range of games for Apple computers, rather than just bloat at at the standard genres (FPS, Racing, RPG, etc). IMHO, I really dont think that Macs are true gaming machines… for those, you should just stick to PS2 or Xbox, et al. However, it just helps to weep away another myth that Macs do not have games, period.
