  1. Anyone not using a Mac is completely and utterly clueless. Windows is and always will be the most despensible piece of garbage on earth. Only on a Mac (with OS X 10.4 of course) can you, with complete lack of any effort, translate and write in any of the major languages.

God bless you Apple computer! Make MS suffer for their lame imitation of your priceless software.

  2. I think the iTMS will have a tougher time succeeding in Japan.

Why? People can rent CDs here for several dollars and rip them. Most video shops have a fair selection of CDs to rent, so why buy when you can rent, rip and burn a whole disc for the price of three or four iTMS songs?

In order to succeed in Japan, the iTMS will have to have a deep catalogue with special offers and bonuses. iPods are popular here, so perhaps the iPod crowd will find and try out the iTMS. If cell phones could access the iTMS, then Apple would have a greater chance of success, as everyone under fifty has a cell phone in Japan.

I hope the store is announced. I would enjoy buying from the Japan store in addition to the Canadian store.

  3. Just for you folks who have not figured out how to use the Sherlock Translation tool yet, Keith in Tokyo wrote:

“Finally. I have been waiting for this.

    First Post.”

    and then:

“I was second post after all. Too bad.”

Now, what I want to know is how do you get invited to this thing?

Maybe I could go as the MacDailyNews Tokyo Correspondent? hint hint
    hehehe

  4. Oh and BTW I agree that ITMS is what is needed to increase iPod sales in Japan. We have been missing one of the pillars of the trifecta. One we get all three iPod, iTunes, ITMS online, true Apple dominance will begin.

  5. of course, if all they announce is JP music store, that would be a shock..

after fumbling the ball with the iTunes Phone.. they have to mention it. They just have to.. SJ have been hiding that thing for too long!

  6. For those who dun understand the japanese text, this is what it means, you idiots.

“I have been waiting for this, Steve Jobs.”

    &

“You dun know the power of the dell side.”

    and the 3rd one reads

“may the Force be with you.”

  7. I actually like some J-Pop. I quit buying Do As Infinity’s CDs once their label moved to copy-protected discs. If DAI’s available on iTMS, I might have to figure out a way to buy the tracks.
