  1. Same here Dave. The time to buy is immediately after a new model has been released. You can pick up a new/sealed previous model for hundreds off the regular price. I bought a 17″ PowerBook that way once and saved $700!

  2. As for anyone that bought a new eMac or iMac last Friday at the Tiger event, make sure and go back and get your price match too. Apple gives a 10 day price guarantee, so they’ll match these new reduced prices if you bought one of these systems within the last 10 days. You can get up to $400 back if you go this weekend and do it.

  3. Joe, you can also upgrade the RAM yourself as well as teh hard drive and probably the optical drive.

The iMac is a great deal. If I didn’t require a laptop I would be very tempted. The iMac is quite portable.

I’b be more tempted if Tiger didn’t make my lowly 867MHz PB 12″ feel like a new machine again. Tiger is all the hype and more for me. I am very demanding on my system. I’ve discovered a few minor bugs, but the improvements and new features are simply wonderful all over again.

  4. Hey kids, MDN isn’t being crooked, they are being up front by stating their affiliation. Reward MDN, they are performing a unique service. Don’t scorn them for advertising. This is good info. A $999 G5 with the best 17″ widescreen display you can get is a wonderful deal.
