“City students have become victims of a rash of vicious iPod muggings and a spike in larcenies at schools. One South Brooklyn transit officer, who asked not to be identified, said his district has seen a near doubling of student iPod robberies on the subways in recent months,” David Andreatta and Murray Weiss report for The New York Post.
“Police said the white iPod headphones, which seem to be pumping tunes into the ears of every other youngster on the street these days, are alerting would-be thieves to the presence of the tiny but big-bucks music players,” Andreatta and Weiss report. “Police said that students interested in engraving their iPods or other valuable items could visit a transit district office and have them etched.”

This reminds me of the times when people thought it was cool to be wearing their white headphones.
I always thought it was IDIOTIC for someone to advertise they had an iPod for the exact reason of getting mugged.
Besides the fact the headphones that come with the iPod are subpar at best.
Now with other mp3 player companies making knockoffs of the white headphones, I would love to see the mugger’s face when he/she gets a crappy player instead of an iPod. Do they just trash it?

The m:robe is going to fail. That’s my prediction. It’s decent, but there are flaws. First of all, the 100 looks like a 1980s hand held led game, like submarine or something. The interface, based on their little flash demo is kinda hokey.
The 500 is gigantic, too big, and too complex. I don’t know why everyone thinks you have to salp a camera on something.
