MacDailyNews Take: That Sony VAIO with Windows currently at #3 is looking mighty lonely surrounded by all that Mac OS X glory.

  1. that Sony VAIO is only an anomaly. even Amazon is an anomaly since so many people buy from online sites with better bundles or the Apple store directly. so, for these Macs to place so well on Amazon is only a partial indicator of general market success.

basically, you have to see where else people can buy that VAIO in terms of bundles, and you’ll see that Amazon is one of the few places where it makes a good deal. For the Macs, though, Amazon is not the best deal, but still it placed so well….. that’s really the underlying theme here.

    go Apple!

  2. To the tune of “Off to see the Wizard”:

My stock and I are happy,
    so wonderfully happy today
I just need to determine when to SELL,
    because then I’ll be so . . . . . . . . . .

fricking happy you can’t godd^#n well believe it, I mean so happy you’ll hear me screaming from the rooftops about my new-found wealth thanks to the beautiful Steve Jobs and the lovely, amazing, scrumptious computer company named after that fruit!!!!!

Okay, so it doesn’t completely follow the tune. Sosumi.

    I’m still happy.

  3. Anyone else notice how easy it is to convert people these days? For two years I heard nothing but “yeah, yeah – Apple…whatever”, then three conversions in the last four months. My sister-in-law called me up long distance to ask me if she could still use Word on one of those Apple things. Interesting times…

  4. I just helped them out by ordering a Mac mini from Amazon about 3 hours ago. They had them in stock via Office Depot for a brief time today. I should have it delivered by Friday! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  5. I have a sell order in when (if ever) Apple should fall to $70/share. That’s about a 400% gain for me. The “play money” I invested is not “play money” any longer. Sell? Not yet. There are another 6 Million iPods and 15 Million Mac Minis to sell yet this year.

  6. Scawny Austin…

I think you should sell now. Unless you bought a few weeks ago and are in it for the short-term capital gain, you should sell. The rule of thumb with Wall Street is do the exact opposite of what the analysts say…If they’re marking Apple as a strong buy…sell.. I think a more reasonable Apple price is 50-60 bucks. Didn’t anyone learn anything in 2000?

  7. I’ve never been a big fan of alternate universes. I’m backing Apple, and hope they do well and all, but in the universe I come from, you would NEVER see five of the top six bestselling machines on Amazon be FREAKING MACINTOSHES!

I want to go home! I want to go back to my world, to Earth with its single sun, still glorious in its white youthful brilliance, where birds still soar in the sky and armies of mutant roaches haven’t yet decimated the forests and eaten all of our precious coffee beans.

But I also want to keep the Apple stock price. Can they do that?

  8. Just the fact that the Vaio is in the list at all might give us a hint as to why there are rumors of Apple/Sony cooperation coming up. Sony is the most Mac-like of any of the PC manufacturers. They should come into the light and this new Cell Chip may be the vehicle.
