Are Pepsi iTunes bottlecaps available in your area?

This is a simple story that MacDailyNews readers will write below. During last year’s Pepsi iTunes promo, we received many email messages from MDN readers either reporting Pepsi iTunes winning caps or complaining that the only Pepsi iTunes bottles they’ve seen are the ones on Apple’s website. And now we’re starting to get email about this promo again.

Unfortunately, most of these messages do not state the readers’ locations. So, please use the Reader Feedback section below to tell us all where you found your Pepsi iTunes bottles or where you’ve looked, but not found any bottles.

By the way, iPod Garage’s “iTunes Pepsi Bottlecap Map 2.0” which tracks winning and losing caps (and cups) and their locations across the United States is here.

  1. I live in Las Vegas and have not seen them here. Just as well though, I am not much of a Pepsi fan, I wish they did the deal with Coke. (Although, they did have the free songs on slurpees last year too so here’s hoping they do that again.

  2. Don’t know. Don’t care. I don’t poison my body with that swill.

Magic word: heart …as in “I don’t have the heart to kill myself slowly by drinking that poison.”

  3. JJ:

My magic word this time is “want” …as in “I want you to keep spazzing out about the magic words because that just makes me want to post them more.”

Incentive, baby. Thanks. It’s numbskulls like you who make posting the magic word so much fun!

  4. Pepsi Bottles with iTunes have been appearing since last week at the 7/11 in Aurora, IL off of Ogden Ave. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  5. Haven’t seen any bottle caps up here in Prudhoe Bay, AK yet. That’s any bottle caps… of any kind… at all. (We’re kind of frozen in here. And it’s a tad dark, too.)

What’s this? My magic word is line. No, I’m not feeding you a line. Why would you imply that?

  6. I buy 2 liters. Pepsi isn’t putting winners on the 2-liters so I will never see an iTunes cap. However, since the cost difference between the 2-liters and the smaller bottles is so small, I can take my savings and buy more songs than someone who gets an average of 1 winner in every 3 purchases.

  7. Haven’t seen any in the Denver area yet, but we had plenty of supply last year.

The odds are definitely better than 1 in 3 for winning if you simply take a second, tilt the bottle and then look and see if you have a winner before you buy a bottle. It’s not difficult people.

  8. None seen in Japan yet. (and if I do I think it will indicate that Pepsi is screwing up even more than last year ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”rolleyes” style=”border:0;” /> )

  9. Just checked a 7-Eleven in Monrovia, CA (east of Pasadena). No cups or bottle caps yet. No Lakers promo this time, so I don’t know what their excuse is this time.

  10. I haven’t seen any at the stores I visit in Northern Orange County, CA.

“Range”: Hmm…I believe JJ is becoming deranged after reading all these references to the magic word.

  11. Damn, my friend no longer works at the local convenience store. Whenever he was in the cooler restocking, he would sort the wins from the no-wins. He didn’t keep them, he just placed them in a row by themselves. It was still just as random if you didn’t know the system, but if you were his friend, you had a winner every time! Is this a bad thing? I guess I could sleep with the new store manager, but there are some things that I just won’t do, even for a free song.
