I got my 17-inch PowerBook as an Apple refurb last year and couldn’t tell the difference between it and a new one – except for my credit card bill was less. Glad Apple did such a great job with my unit. I’ll have this baby for awhile – waiting for the G5 PowerBook…
Aren’t these the same prices Apple has in their Specail Deals section any time they’re available…which is on a regular basis?
Shouldnt that be the USA Apple Store …

Sure seems so. I’ve checked the refurbs page pretty much daily, and this doesn’t seem different than in weeks past.

Why is this news? I’ve seen this on other sites too. I’ve been watching the refurb store for months and these prices and offerings are consistent.
I bought my iPod G3 10GB refurbished. I didn’t notice anything different about it except that it didn’t come in the fancy black/white crate box, just in a plain brown cardboard box. Well, that and not all of the wires were factory sealed. So what!? I personally don’t care about those little differnces, the iPod looked brand new to me, and it was cheaper.
Personally, I was looking into getting a refurb iMac G5 1.6GHz, and I think I might get it and then install a Seagate or Hitachi 160 or 250GB HD. Now, hopefully that won’t void my AppleCare warranty. Doing it myself is cheaper than getting a custom new iMac with a larger HD.

It’s for the switchers benefit, I guess… Or the adders benefit…
