“Apple’s iTunes Music Store won recognition once again last night, at the Digital Music Awards. The service took first prize in the ‘Best Music Service’ category, beating off competition from Napster, Sony Connect, MyCokeMusic and KarmaDownload. The ceremony took place at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire,” Jonny Evans reports for Macworld UK.
“Around 1,500 music and tech/music professionals attended the event, which was presented by BT Broadband… Apple’s iTunes team sat at table number 10 last night – scant feet away from Sony representatives, but declined to give interviews on their achievement. A representative of the UK independent labels did confirm that some labels remain frustrated at Apple’s progress getting their music onto iTunes,” Evans reports.

Shepherds Bush Empire is a very old and famous live music venue on London, UK.
Ive seen some great bands there – including Ozzy Osborne and Black Sabbath!

My last visit there was to see the King of Suave, a certain Mr. Bryan Ferry – God I’d like to look that good when I’m 58.

I think the tense vis a vis the status of Roxy Music is “is” right at the moment – there are continual rumours of new material being produced by Ferry/Mackay/Manzanera and with the added benefit of The Great Paul Thompson back on drums.
