Bling, Bling baby !!!!
Knowing Apple, there won’t be some crazy number of iPods sold in the last quarter. My guess is they’ll sell between 1.1 and 1.3 million iPods. I’ve heard people saying it would be closer to 2 million, but I don’t believe it. Now don’t get me wrong, over 1 million iPods sold in a quarter is pretty good news to say the least, but I would be really surprised if they doubled last quarters units sold. Personally, I’m really interested to see how many iMacs have been booked so far. 26 hours and counting…
I expect this last quarter’s numbers to be good. In my opinion, far more important to investors than last quarter’s numbers will be projections about this next holiday quarter.
Now, of course I don’t expect AAPL to introduce any products at the earnings conference call, but I’m hoping that they will guide toward big revenue and profit increases.
most curious will be it’s computer sales – these numbers will tell us more than anything about the halo effect of iPods.
Apple will beat the street as usual (it’ll probably be a 20 cents per share profit instead of 18). Maybe one of these days they’ll realize Apple is alive and thriving and that they don’t need M$ or Intel’s help.
And for a laugh don’t forget to stay tuned for Paul Thurrotts ‘conspiracy theory’ take on Apples earnings.
So much for the company that is always reportedly going out of business. According to all of the PC salesmen, that is.
what is PDT / EDT ?
US time zones?
Yup. Pacific Daylight Time/ Eastern Daylight Time, I think..
hellstudios:
To be rigourous, they are North American Time Zones, which also include Central, Atlantic, and Newfoundland, and I suppose and argument could be made for Hawaii.
Time zones, for those interested, were invented in Canada by a Canadian:

…and Mountain. The one I live in. Doh!

The numbers are in and Apple blew the lid off. Way above estimates. Stay tuned for the official announcement.
