I agree with rageous on this one. Reading this site is one thing, but supporting it becomes a value proposition.
1) I’m with ya, richIP and Al. Can’t help out ’cause it ain’t here.
2) Under the button, wouldn’t it be immeasurably better if it said “Buy Tunes Here” instead of “Buy iTunes here”? To me it makes the service look like some kind of pay or subscription program . However, everyone can relate to buying “Tunes”.

have to agree with rageous – sorry duh. I don’t visit this site as often as I would if the reader responses weren’t so moronic (e.g., 1st post!!). I I’m a recent convert to the MAC platform, and enjoy reading related articles…, but some of the comments posted here taint the experience a bit too much.
many people will now respond with ‘well, go somewhere else then’. I do…, and as a result am less likely to click on sponsor links, including the new iTunes program.

MDN is cool and since it is no skin off my nose to go to iTunes via their link I will be using it in the future. Keep up the good work!!
Hmmmm. Dont like the look of the banner. Any verticals? Squares? The banners are too big and they are not “hip” enough that they come from Apple. Rather they look like Microsoft Music Store banner designs.
I’ll support the MDN though.
I can’t understand how MDN became an Apple iTunes Affiliate and AtAT was turned down.
Indications are that As the Apple Turns was turned down because some of the opinions aired there were not always full of gushing praise for Apple.
Does this mean that the editorial content on MDN will be monitored by Apple? If Apple screws up will you have to look the other way in order to keep the Affiliate program going?
Gotta agree with rageous. This site used to be great, but now lots of the post is about 1st post, 2nd post, last post. Then there are political posts and posts attacking other posters. If you see the posters’ handles, you don’t see many old timers anymore. Maybe they lurk only now or maybe they gave up on the site. I myself don’t post as often now and just scan the news quickly.
I hope quality post count increases without moderation and registration (it was one of the draws to the site), but I don’t think it’s realistic now. To improve, MDN must moderate posts or make posters register.
1) Actually, my suggestion was for “Buy Tunes Here.”, not “Buy Tunes here.” While not correct punctuationally (!?), it *looks* better to me – it matches all the other caps. See what you think at your end when it is actually in the graphics. Does this mean I get a raise?

3) Do you have any idea how many Apple iTunes Affiliates there are, or who they are? Are they listed somewhere? I hope Apple is marketing the fsck out of this, as this could be HUGE. Not so much if only Maccentric sites are involved. I wish I had thought of it.

This is good news, I’ll definitely give a click to support MDN. Sure, there are moronic comments posted sometimes, but IMO there’s enough gold to be found among the dirt to be worth the effort.
