Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 G5 Processor Plug-in update for Mac OS X released

Adobe has released the “Photoshop 7.0.1 G5 Processor Plug-in update for Mac OS X” which is designed to optimize Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 for use with the Apple Power Macintosh G5 processor. It makes the following changes to an existing Photoshop 7.0.1 installation:

– Modifies many Photoshop operations to fully utilize the G5 processor capabilities
– Replaces the Adobe Color Engine component (ACECarbonLib) with a new version that is designed for the G5 processor

This plug-in update was originally posted in August 2003. The plug-in installer has subsequently been updated to support the Dual G5 2.5GHz model. The plug-in update itself is unchanged from the original version.

System requirements
– Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 for Mac OS X
– Power Macintosh G5 computer

  1. Hmmm… my dual PIII 650 still runs fine and that’s about 6 years old now. I’ve got a RexRT in it that’s older and was discontinued several years ago. Canopus still releases updates for it – latest drivers will support PremPro 1.5.

    Oh and to keep it on-topic, PS 7 runs fine on it as well. Can’t decide which verson to upgrade to though, PS:CS for Windows or PS:CS for Mac. The G5/OSX combo has been pretty tempting lately.
