All eyes on Time Canada on rumored eve of iMac G5 release

“The new iMac G5 is to blame for continued delays in dual-1.8GHz Power Mac G5 shipments. Reliable sources inform Think Secret that virtually all 1.8GHz PowerPC G5 processors that Apple is receiving from IBM are going into new iMac G5 systems, leaving customers looking for the most affordable G5 tower with a bit of a wait,” Ryan Katz reports for ThinkSecret.com. Full article here.

The high-end 20-inch iMac G5 is rumored to pack a single 1.8GHz G5 processor while the rumored 17-inch models will come with a 1.6GHz G5.

All browsers are trained on Time Canada as some parts of The Mac Web collectively theorize that Time magazine has secured the inside rights to iMac prerelease information, while Newsweek seems to get all of the iPod secrets. It’s Time’s turn and the Time Canada Webmaster is sweatin’ bullets right about now. If you think that we will be able to refrain from clicking over to Time Canada (even though we just KNOW it isn’t going to happen again) this evening, you’re sadly mistaken. We’ll be forced to visit at least once or a couple hundred times – we are unable to stop oursleves. wink

  1. Just a little thing, it is a mockup I’ve done, but I didn’t realise how big it made the base look when I first did it. (the base is made out of iPod mini parts so I guess the relative size fooled me)

  2. Viridian, nplastic, and librium,
Many of the adds on this site come from a group clearing house add agency. (that’s why you see so many windows only adds here)
If Dell or Windows software companies want to spend their money to support MDN, then I say go for it!
On the other hand, the flickering Bush/Kerry ad did cross the line and had to go.

  3. Daddysteve,

My apologies if you misunderstood; I am absolutely NOT questioning the ad policy. Hell, they can run anything they want to support this site, it’s MDN’s prerogative. It’s just that the ad in question was annoying beyond redemption.

    Zippy,

    Nice one, you almost had me going for a while. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

  4. I take it all back. I’ve just seen the ‘real’ iMac G5 and it looks as though they,ve solved the cooling issues. Seems the whole computer can be housed inside the monitor.
