No sales tax this Saturday at three Massachusetts Apple Stores open 24 hours

Live in or near Massachusetts? If so, you will be able to shop tax free for 24 hours at the Apple Store, Chestnut Hill, the Apple Store, Northshore, and the Apple Store, Cambridgeside.

The Apple Store is participating in Massachusetts’s Tax-Free Days all day Saturday. Come in and pay no sales tax on individual purchases up to $2500.* There are no exceptions, and there’s never been a better time to shop at the Apple Store, according to Apple.

The Apple Store will stay open for 24 hours at all three locations to make it easier for you to take advantage of tax-free shopping. So come to the Apple Store between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. this Saturday and get a little tax relief.

*The State of Massachusetts enacted a statute designating Saturday August 14, 2004 as a “sales tax holiday” in the state of Massachusetts. The act provides that most items purchased for personal use will not be subject to the normal sales and use tax on that day only. Single items of personal property costing $2,500 or less are exempt from sales and use taxes.

  1. Tax-Free-achusettes!

Not gonna be in the area, but for anyone that is: there anything in the tax free holiday rules that would stop someone from, say, making a G5 one purchase and then running through a display as a second purchase?

  2. Well, if its tax free you need, you can try the neighbors to the north. There is no limit on the amount you can spend taxfree in the Rockingham Park Apple store just across the border in Salem.

Just don’t forget that the tax man from Mass. might catch up with you later for taxes.

  3. “YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. JUST BOUGHT A POWERBOOK LAST WEEK FROM CHESTNUT HILL!”

Go to the store, return the item (should have 15-30 days) and then buy another one this Saturday.

  4. WOW, a day of tax free sales in MA!!! So what….
All I have to do, on any day, is to drive north to Tax Free New Hampshire, and the nice shiny Apple Store at Rockingham Mall in Salem. No limit on cost either.

Too late. The person who bought it (it wasn’t for me) is flying off tomorrow. sigh. 🙁

  6. Hmmm… tax free… stimulates sales, causes job growth, boosts the economy…

    nah…

TAX EVERYONE TO DEATH AND GIVE THE MONEY TO DRUNKS AND BUMS!!!! THAT’S THE LIBERAL WAY!
