Inventive, Inc. announces the release of iClip version 3 productivity software for Apple Macintosh computers with OS X. iClip is a multiple clipboard/scrapbook application designed to improve user efficiency and productivity for various computing tasks.
New in iClip 3 are pop-up previews that enable quick viewing of clipping contents. File aliases can now be stored in iClip, adding file launcher capabilities to it. iClip 3 now operates without appearing in the Dock, saving valuable space. Other enhancements include the ability to name clippings, to aid in quickly identifying them, and new “action buttons” that provide easy access to various clipping functions.
iClip functions as a floating window that allows users to store and retrieve various clippings, such as text, pictures, URLs, movies, etc. in its multiple bins. Clippings can be arranged into groups to keep users organized. iClip helps eliminate redundant typing, especially in tasks like filling out online forms. It’s widely used to assist general purpose tasks such as word processing, web browsing, and research, while webmasters, graphic designers, and programmers also find iClip to be useful in their more specialized tasks.
“For iClip 3, we’ve continued to improve its usefulness by adding all-new pop-up previews and file launcher capabilities. iClip now uses the Valentina database engine for increased performance and future expandability. We also recruited renowned Mac graphic designer, Mike Matas, for some great new artwork,” said John Casasanta, President of Inventive in the press release.
iClip is available now for Mac OS X as a “try-before-you-buy” download at http://inventive.us/iClip/ It can be purchased for $19.95 USD and the version 3 upgrade is free to registered users of any previous version.

I think that better should be put in quotes. The word ‘better’ is suggestive at best, and with the fact that Apple has sold over 3 million iPods to date, it would seem that many people feel that the iPod is the ‘better’ option.

Okay, that was totally off subject.
In 15 years of Mac ownership I can count about two times where multiple clipboards would’ve been handy.
In 6 months of having a Windows XP machine (in addition to my Mac) I can count about 30 times when XP’s multiple clipboards annoyed the piss out of me. If someone gets the bright idea of throwing multiple clipboards into Tiger they better give me the ability to turn ’em off.

There’s plenty of times that multiple clipping spaces come in handy, although I’m not sure I’m going to like this implementation.
iClip is a gem. I use it constantly every day. You can save anything in a very handy sorted list which breaks down into bins .. from there you can cut and paste at will. I save all sorts of urls, text, graphics etc. that I can share with anyone at a moments notice. Comes in very handy for troubleshooting forums…. find some info on an issue .. paste the url into iclip .. label it .. and you’re never searching around for that info again. I have about 30 separate clip labels regarding different troubleshooting issues and each label has as many “bins” as you wish where you can keep relevant info. Really worth a look …
There is a very serious exploit, either turn your Mac OS X help viewer completely “no access” via permissions (record the settings) or remove it from your computer. Save it on cd.
Just by visiting a web site, a dmg will download in seconds and execute code.

Iv’e said it before and I’m saying it again, Apple you need to employ a system level check that will halt malicious or compromised websites from automatically downloading material to our computers.
You also need to employ a outgoing optional check as well, like Little Snitch does.
We love you and your no where as dangerous as Microsoft software.
