RUMOR: Apple PowerBook G5 to be announced in June, to ship July/August

“One major bone of contention among the usual suspects is whether we will see a Powerbook G5 or an iMac G5 first,” MacOS Rumors reports. “The issue has not be settled, not in any sort of iron-clad manner, but several of our oldest sources have recently chimed in on the side of PBG5-first, so for the time being, we are leaning in that direction strongly. Most sources are pointing at a WWDC introduction in June for the PBG5, with product actually shipping in late July and early August. On the PowerMac front, despite a handful of single-sourced reports in recent days that hint at an update announcement in a matter of days, we continue to face a lot of conflicting information in the search for clear answers.”

  1. I am waiting for the PowerBook G5 to come out to buy it. Do you think it will be out till the end of the year? I can wait that long…(i hope ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” /> )

  2. Apple doesn’t care about us.
    It’s a ploy to make us wait.
    The PBG5 will almost be ready when the new desktop will come out.
    Then they’ll scrap it and skip 5.

    …then the homicide rate will double.
