Great. See if they can get rid of all thexe extra buttons on my keyboard too. Why have A,E,I,O and U keys when a single “Vowel” key would suffice?

  2. Looks like I have a new fan. A real comedian.

If you want a two-button mouse from Apple, here is the link to one of the many two-button mice available from the Apple Store.

Did you have something to say about my post, or did you just like the way my name tasted?

Having to design programs for use with one button mice enforces adherence to exremely useful concepts – such as ALL OPERATIONS APPEAR ON THE MENU BAR SOMEWHERE.

There are several things that I have not been able to fix on the PC at work because I can’t find the correct context for the action I want to perform – and neither can the IT guys. They know it is possible. I know it is possible, cause I did it once. But we can’t find it now. Junk.

What’s that? RTFM? Ha ha. Good one. RTFM! What a hoot!

One button mice have a little to do with keeping it simple, and a great deal to do with keeping it right. With the discipline of the single mouse button requirement, it is then possible to gracefully add further functionality.

  4. The Kensington Studio mouse already has a touch sensitive scrolling strip that you operate by sliding your finger up and down.

With all the talk about buying a 2 button mouse for your Power Mac, what do people do about Powerbooks and iBooks? You can’t just yank out that single button trackpad and replace it with a 2 button version, can you?

I’d like to see Apple laptops with a virtual scrolling strip like those found on newer Compaq and HP laptops.

  5. Stop teasing me, Kenny. I don’t want to buy a two-button mouse from the Apple Store. I want to buy a two-button mouse that was designed by Apple and carries their logo. Plus, the link you provided is broken.

I can’t tell by your post. Are you flirting with me?

  6. for trackpad-slide-scrolling and all your trackpad needs, get <a>href=”http://www.ragingmenace.com/software/sidetrack/index.html” >sidetrack</a>.

    …from the website.

    SideTrack supports these features:

    * Vertical scrolling at left or right edge of pad.
    * Horizontal scrolling at top or bottom edge of pad.
    * Map hardware button to left or right click.
    * Map trackpad taps to no action, left click, left click drag (with or without drag lock), or right click.
    * Map trackpad corner taps to mouse buttons 1-6 or simulated keystrokes.
    * Compatible with uControl, including uControl’s scroll emulation.

  7. I like the apple one button mouse. This rumored scroll wheel mouse hopefully will be a big improvement over most scroll wheel mice which in my opinion suck. But many people swear by scroll wheels. As long as a variety of options are supported most people can pick what they want. There is no right or wrong way, but the way it works for you.

Of course there is– allow me to enlighten you with some moral clarity. There is good in the world, and there is EEEEvil. Either you’re with us, or you’re against us.
