Report: First specially-marked Pepsi iTunes promo bottles released

Apple and Pepsi announced on October 16, 2003 that they would be giving away 100 million songs in specially-marked 20 ounce and 1 liter bottles of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Sierra Mist. The Pepsi iTunes promotion will kick-off with a Super Bowl ad on February 1, 2004, and will run until March 31, 2004.

“The first specially-marked [Pepsi iTunes] bottles are already making their way into circulation… with one reader (MacBoyX) buying an iTunes-marked 20oz Diet Pepsi bottle (and winning a song) in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania,” MacRumors.com reports.

MacRumors has photos of the winning bottle and cap here.

  1. I wish Pepsi bottles fit in my cup holder like Coke’s do. Pepsi have that “fat” bottom, thus they get stuck in my cup holder and I splash it everywhere when I try to take it out. I guess it’s worth it a few tunes though ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />
