NetNewsWire 1.05 released; get your online news more efficiently

Ranchero Software has announced the release of a new version of the award-winning NetNewsWire, the easy-to-use RSS Web newsreader for Mac OS X. Its familiar three-paned interface, similar to Apple Mail and Outlook Express, can fetch and display news from thousands of different websites and weblogs, making it quick and easy to keep up with the latest news, including MacDailyNews.

NetNewsWire 1.0.5 fixes several bugs. The most important of these is it no longer share cookies with Safari, which eliminates a set of crashes and hangs reported by some users. The RSS parser has been improved to handle some feeds it couldn’t read before, and a number of user interface bugs and glitches have been fixed.

Another new feature is the ability to prefer permalinks to external links when doing an open-in-browser on a headline.

The freeware NetNewsWire Lite is also available at the Ranchero Software site. More info and download link here.
