“The Mac OS X 10.2.8 update was released internally late last week, sources confirmed. The Jaguar software update was posted to the Apple network for employees on Friday,” Nick dePlume reports for Think Secret. “Sources speculated that the update will be provided to users Monday or next week. One insider, however, suggested the release could be delayed due to some problems that have recently cropped up.”

“Apple’s official download notes for the update state that 10.2.8 ‘delivers enhanced functionality and improved reliability for the following applications, services and technologies: Audio, Bluetooth, Classic compatibility, Finder, Graphics, LDAP, Power Management, Safari, and FireWire and USB device compatibility.’ Version 10.2.8 also includes updated security services and the latest Security Updates,” dePlume reports.

  1. Aluminum or Aluminum Siding?
Computer makers are the lowest for a corporate life
in my opinion producing junk at an astonishinlgly slow rate–
I remeber the good old days when chip makers thought they had to go back to 66 megs everytime they cam out with a new chip–they would scheme to come out with the 66 and they would run with it through 300 and then come out with the next level but back down to 66–as if it was a law of computer physics that a new chip couldnt just start out at 300. Its always something. Like those hinges on the power books, whose idea were those? Apparently some one has to reinvent the closure everytime a new computer product comes out–oh let try this totally unsatisfactory costly let flimsy method to hinge this lid to this thing…no wonder a guy who suggests making computers in colors is considered a genius in this ersatz world-

  2. Is there an improvement in Bluetooth printing? Is there printing capability where there is now none?

I’ll continue my rant. I purchased a 17 powerbook, a bluetooth capable printer and a bluetooth card for that printer only to discover that Apple doesn’t do Bluetooth printing. PC’s have Blueooth printing, I expected Apple to do it even better. One of the few times a PC does it better than a Mac.

Come on Apple, lets get wireless printing from Bluetooth working!

  3. Let’s assume that “Lisa” is neither a native speaker of the English language nor a member of the human race (homo sapiens). I wonder who told her the meaning of “ersatz” and yet neglected to inform her of the polite practice of PROOFREADING what she writes!

  4. Thats the spirit–If Apple doesnt do it, then why do you need to do it? Nevermind that PC can do it–Nevermind that you would like to do it. Some people just love taking that bite out of the Apple.
