International versions of Apple’s iTunes Music Store for Europe “and the non-U.S. Americas are apparently making good progress towards opening at last,” Mac OS Rumors reports. Apple is making headway in securing “rights to distribute music in Central/South America, and could have that store on-line within two months. The European store isn’t far behind and because it is the highest priority currently… it could open even sooner — perhaps as soon as the end of September,” reports Mac OS Rumors, promising, “More dirt to come…”

I am currently working in Europe but I enjoyed iTMS download since its launch date since I am a US customer.
Especially so in that if you have broadband it just takes few seconds to download a song

About time. I suppose the record companies would say that the deal they make here will influence their income for years to come, but how much money have they lost in the meantime to freebie P2P networks. And I really can’t have Windows owning friends showing me how good their MSN Music Club is without me being able to pull out the Powerbook and show them something much much better

I hear ya. I had a series of “Wow” “Ohh” “Awh” “Nice” “Cool” “Could not think was that good” etc whenever I showoff iTMS. The perfect integration with an iPod is part of the equation as well.

You may still show everything but the buying process. Not being currently able to buy music due to legal issues (and mentioning that the service will be opened to European customers) should not be much of a damper.
