Choose between speaking the time, playing an alert sound, playing a sound file (System 7 through MP3), or having ChimeX randomly choose a file from a folder. Alerts may be set for the hour, quarter past, half past and quarter of. In addition v1.4 removes the dock icon and places it in the menu bar. This new version also introduces an alarm setting with the same options as above,
however the user can choose the time of their choice for the alarm sound to go off. ChimeX is shareware and only costs $5.00 to register. A 30-day trial period is included. ChimeX is made with REALbasic.

Hourly chimes were brought back long ago by the freeware app PTHClock, which also gives you a drop down calandar and cusomizable time and/or date in the menu bar. [url=http://www.pth.com]http://www.pth.com[/url] has several little useful freeware apps that I love! Check ’em out.
