Display PDFs directly in OS X browsers with free ‘PDF Browser Plugin’

PDF Browser Plugin 1.1.1 displays Quartz compatible PDF documents within Web browsers including Safari. Features include:

– View Quartz compatible PDF documents within web browsers
– View embedded PDF
– Open in external viewer
– Save the PDF document from the plugin
– Saves document URL as Finder comment
– Printing
– Zoom into the document
– Mouse wheel support for scrolling and zooming in Carbon web browsers

  1. Last time I checked, this did not work for Internet Explorer. There was no mention that I could see in the ReadMe. IIRC, the author wrote back to me giving the reason, which I have forgotten. My solution was to keep using the older one, v0.3.2, named “PDF Plugin.”

    Is this version (v1.1.1) now working in IE on 10.2.4?

  2. Sorry, I have one application that REQUIRES IE so I must use… that said, this utility breaks the automated task of downloading and displaying the pdf in Adobe or Preview. Now I have two or three extra steps to print out a report. I will have to reinstall IE 5.2.2 and pray that this fixes the problem. Anyone have other suggestions?
