The original story which we quoted was this:
“…The introduction of Safari, a Macintosh-only Web browser, and Keynote, a new professional presentation program, seemed to be direct shots in the direction of Apple rival, and benefactor, Microsoft… Analysts said that even though it appeared Apple was biting the Microsoft hand that feeds it — Microsoft still makes the best-selling Macintosh software and owns a piece of Apple — they did not necessarily see a major change in the companies’ relationship.”
Now, after our original story was posted, in which we called the quotes above, “Horrible, horrible, horrible, slanted, shoddy reporting,” CBS MarketWatch changed the story to this:
“…The introduction of Safari, a Macintosh-only Web browser, and Keynote, a new professional presentation program, seemed to be direct shots in the direction of Apple rival, and software partner, Microsoft… Analysts said that even though it appeared Apple was biting the Microsoft hand that feeds it — Microsoft still makes the best-selling Macintosh software–they did not necessarily see a major change in the companies’ relationship.”
We win and so does the truth! See it here.

Works fine on my Safari – 10.2.3.
Safari works fine here for me too.
Works great for me also. I’ve even been to Microsoft’s Eopen licensing website. Works purrrrrrrrrfect!
Viewing this with Safari – works perfectly fine for me, it’s just way faster than any other browser on Mac OS X 10.2.3.
Worked great all day yesterday. It keeps quitting everytime it is launced today.
If it’s quiting, dump the preference. It did this to me last night. Dumped the pref and it worked okay. It’s called com.apple.Safari.plist and is located in your /user/library/preferences folder. I don’t remember exactly what I did to corrupt it in the first place, sorry.

Removing the preference file as you suggested worked. thanks a million.
“Microsoft still makes the best-selling Macintosh software…”
They do? One would think that the Mac OS is the Mac’s “best-selling” software. It has to be. Some of the media have a woody for Microsoft – they must own the stock. MS makes mediocre crapola at their best.
Safari doesnt work in my machine (10.2.3, P4 Titanium 800mhz) it shows a white blank screen on any html document (online or offline). I can open text or jpg files and those show up fine. Anyone else having this problem? potential solution?
Thanks
Safari is fast. It always seem to take an Apple app to REALLY SHOW what the G4/PPC systems can do. Funny… Office ’01 is OK, but MS did make great apps at one time. MSWord 5.1 is the best text (RTF) editor I have ever used. Now they just toss sheet out there to see what sticks or where they can leverage their monopoloy and hack prone ‘standards’. Pathetic really for a technology company. MS is one hell of a marketer though.
I bet most the media companies are owned by MS and I bet most of the analyst have some bit of MS stock.
Of course they dont seem to notice that Apple was and is promoting MS Office v. X heavily at Mac World and that its $300 cheaper with a new system – making on par MS Office for Windows.
Seems like the “thousands of programs” for PCs are games and M$ junque, so maybe monopoly loving media bozos think that’s all that Mac users do too. I won’t use Microsoft’s stuff on my computer as do a number of others I know. It’s amazing how much can be done WITHOUT M$ Office.
I was hoping safari would have a k.i.s.s. web page maker like Netscape (tried their OSX version and didn’t like it.. I still use Claris Home Page on my geneology CD-ROM and would like something that on OSX but don’t see it available
