The Boston Herald reports, “Boston has beat out the Big Apple for the blockbuster 2004 Macworld show, which could pump tens of millions into the city’s hard-hit economy. Sources say IDG World Expo will bring the show back to the Hub from New York in a comeback win for Boston, which lost the show in a devastating pullout in 1998. The return of one of the nation’s top technology shows is expected to give a major lift to the city as it launches a giant $800 million exhibition center that has booked only a handful of shows so far. Macworld is expected draw more than 64,000 tech experts and consumers and likely would be the city’s largest convention.” 2003 will be the last in NYC for quite sometime. Sigh. Read it all here.
