United Airlines to give away Apple iPods, U.S. trip to lucky Canucks

United Airlines announced today that it will celebrate the fifth anniversary and success of its Canadian Web site, http://www.united.ca , with a contest, giving away three iPod minis 4GB, one iPod 20GB and a grand prize of 50,000 Saver Award miles allowing for one pair of United Economy, roundtrip tickets for travel from any United gateway in Canada to any of the more than 150 destinations United flies in the continental United States.

Prizes are subject to the Official Contest Rules and applicable United Airlines ticket terms and restrictions, including the Saver Award Rules.

“We are pleased to celebrate the fifth anniversary of our local Canadian site with this opportunity for our customers to win one of several great prizes,” said Richard Carret, manager-Passenger Sales for Canada. “For the last five years, the local site has tailored the United experience to our Canadian customers’ needs, by offering them many of the excellent features available on our main site, while also enabling them to book a trip and get fare quotes in Canadian currency.”

The contest began on August 16, 2005, and ends at 11:59 PM on September 9, 2005. Participants should register at http://www.united.ca / during the contest period for a chance to win. Participants will be required to provide their name, telephone number and e-mail address, and to answer a skill-testing question. No purchase is required to enter or to be eligible to win a prize. The winners will be drawn on or about September 12, 2005. Winners will be required to have correctly answered the skill-testing question in order to claim a prize.
