Friday, July 01, 2005 - 08:45 AM EDT

Starting July 2, Lance Armstrong goes for a record-breaking 7th consecutive Tour de France victory, and no one gets you closer to the yellow jersey than SIRIUS. "The fans have been so supportive of me over the years," says Armstrong, "and having them along for my last race will make this experience that much more special."

Throughout the Tour, SIRIUS will have exclusive behind-the-scenes reports from Lance himself and Armstrong Radio co-host Mark Higgins that you'll only hear on SIRIUS. You'll get a firsthand account of every aspect of the most demanding race in professional cycling as well as commentary from the man who has dominated the sport for the last six years.

I thought he was going to be PodCast... Sirius is a subscription radio service...
I didn't RTFA so that might be why I'm confused

Jul 01, 05 - 10:43 am Comment from: Tempus Fugit

methinks you're right, Crouching Tiger... it IS Sirius....

looks like another day of eating crow for me....

Jul 01, 05 - 10:53 am Comment from: g$

No, this is a Podcast. You don't have to be a SIRIUS subscriber to get it. You can add the link manually in iTunes 4.9. Works like a charm!

So, now that iTunes carries PodCasts, are we going to be notified of every new PodCast out there?

Maybe we should start a PodCastDailyNews site...

Jul 01, 05 - 12:19 pm Comment from: bd

Hi g$, How do you link the podcast to Itunes4.9? Thanks.

Jul 01, 05 - 12:37 pm Comment from: username

bd:
1: open itunes
2: click advanced
3: click suscribe to podcast
4: type " http://feeds.feedburner.com/sirius_tdf_armstrong "
5: click ok

In iTunes 4.9, under the Advanced menu, go to Subscribe to Podcast.... Copy and paste the link:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/sirius_tdf_armstrong

This seemed to work, but won't know for sure until an update comes in.

@username:
I followed your instructions to the letter, steps 6 & 7 took a little longer, but they're done. I didn't realize listening to podcasts cost so much, but Lances is surly worth the $2k I spent!!

Jul 01, 05 - 01:52 pm Comment from: username

yes... steps 6 and 7 are the most important ones... if you don't follow my instructions all the way through, APPLES FIRST VIRIS WILL BE DEPLOYED ON YOUR COMPUTER!!! WHOHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Jul 01, 05 - 02:54 pm Comment from: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Longhorn

Or you can just drag the address from your Safari browser window into your PodCast menu in iTunes and it automatically finds it!!!!

I was also playing around tonight with searching for PodCasts of interest and always being amused by the stupidity of others, I stumbled across
feed://feeds.feedburner.com/DumbassVideos
At first I was just viewing the videos in Safari but I then added it to my PodCast subscription in iTunes and lo-and-behold the videos download and play right there in iTunes!!!
I haven't seen any people really talking about this feature, but if this isn't the perfect makings for "TV when you want it", I just don't know what is...

MW="similar" as in nothing is even close to being....

CT, HL:

I tried viewing via iTunes, but all I got was the audio, none of the video. I had QT Player up, but nothing doing. Help!

Tempus Fugit

You say you have a taste for eating crow. Just think about poor Lance Armstrong!

Jul 03, 05 - 12:41 am Comment from: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Longhorn

confused... I don't know of anything special I may have done to get it working. I've got iTunes 4.9 (of course) and I did upgrade to QT 7.0 Pro but I don't know if that would affect iTunes or not.
I've subscribed to a number of diffferent video podcasts now from podcastalley and they've all worked just fine.

MikeR... That's just cold man... funny, but cold!!

Jul 03, 05 - 02:01 pm Comment from: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Longhorn

confused, also make sure that you have the album art window displayed...
