Keyspan Express Remote supports Apple Airport Express and AirTunes

Keyspan today announced that its new USB infrared remote control includes support for Apple’s groundbreaking AirPort Express. The Keyspan Express Remote is a convenient infrared remote that enables users to control media applications on a PC or Mac just as they control their TV or VCR. Retailing at $59 and shipping in mid-November, the Keyspan Express Remote will be available through the Apple store, Apple’s retail stores, as well as from CDW, PC Connection and other leading resellers of computer accessories.

“AirPort Express allows people to play music without wires,” said Mike Ridenhour, president of Keyspan in the press release. “The new Express Remote from Keyspan perfectly complements AirPort Express allowing users to take remote control of their wireless music.”

“AirPort Express featuring AirTunes is the best way to play your iTunes music on a stereo located anywhere in the home,” said David Moody, Apple’s vice president of Mac Hardware Product Marketing in the press release. “Now with Keyspan’s Express Remote users have a way to remotely control their iTunes — taking the wireless music experience to the next level.”

AirPort Express is Apple’s mobile base station that features analog and digital audio outputs that can be connected to a home stereo, and together with AirTunes gives users a simple way to wirelessly stream music from iTunes on their Mac or PC to any room in the house.

  1. Sounds cool, I have a Bluetooth remote clicker/mouse from Keyspan that I use for presentations and it really works great. Plug and play on both windows and Macs. I don’t know if I will get this because I usually hook up my iPod to the stereo for tunes but if it is up to the caliber of the product I already have, it should be a Very Good Thing to have if you stream tunes from your Mac.

  2. I use my K700i withh Salling Clicker. Works a treat. This looks goos tho, and the K700i is annoying because of the alpha software on the phone (random characters, disconnects without warning etc). My T610 worked flawlessly tho.

Anyone got a new Vodafone 3G (released today in UK)? Anyone know if they work well with Salling Clicker?

  3. this is cool, but it still lacks some features though! I wish someone esle would come out with a control that has the itunes interface inbedded so we can change playlists on the go! but then again this is why we make playlist! so we only listen to a certain amout of songs we listen to.

  4. yeah this is pretty kick ass…

simple1.. they couldn’t tailor it to itunes, or anything.. so it’s tricky.. they don’t wanna narrow their customerbase by tailor to a certain function..
