iMac, iPod designer Jonathan Ive named ‘most influential person on British culture’
Thursday, February 12, 2004 - 10:22 AM EST

"Author JK Rowling and Ricky Gervais have been beaten by the designer of the iPod to be named the most influential person on British culture. Jonathan Ive, who created the music download system , beat the Harry Potter writer into second place," BBC News reports.

[MacDailyNews Note: Ive designed the iPod which is one component of Apple's trinity of pieces comprising their music strategy. The iPod, working with Apple's iTunes software, and the iTunes Music Store, make Apple's music solution seamless and elegant - a least for users in the U.S. with a credit card]

"Golden Globe winner Gervais, the creator and star of The Office, came third in the list put together by a panel of culture experts. London-born Ive is now vice-president of design at Apple in California. The designer also helped to shape the original iMac computer and its portable counterpart, the iBook," BBC News reports. "The music download gadget is about the size of a cigarette packet and can hold some 10,000 songs."

[MacDailyNews Note: Apple's iPod is not really a "music download gadget." Aww, screw it! If you're here you should know that - the BBC writer obviously is struggling to understand. Be kind.]

Grooming? Ive is a product designer. A damn good one, but this is far from being a CEO of a multi-billion dollar company. I don't recall SJ ever saying anything about Ive being groomed, so it's pure speculation.

Steve Job's will obviously live forever, having written an Applescript to make it possible.

If you own a Mac you will live forever smile
Mac owners lives longer than PC owners. PC owners have tendency to make suicides. Mac owners enjoy their life and lives forever.
