Call of Duty 2 coming for Apple’s Mac OS X in May

Aspyr Media, Inc. announced today they will publish Activision, Inc.’s critically-acclaimed Call of Duty 2 (Mac), with an anticipated release in May 2006. Originally developed by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty 2 is licensed by Activision and will be developed for Mac by Aspyr Studios.

Call of Duty 2 re-defines the cinematic intensity and chaos of battle as seen through the eyes of ordinary soldiers fighting together in epic WWII conflicts. The sequel to Call of Duty, the 2003 Game of the Year and winner of more than 80 awards, Call of Duty 2 offers more immense, more intense, more realistic battles than ever before, thanks to the stunning visuals of the new Call of Duty 2 engine.

Call of Duty 2 provides an amazing experience with all-new enhancements, ranging from stunningly realistic graphics to seamless gameplay, a new engine, groundbreaking AI, and choice-based innovations that allow players to experience the closest thing they’ll ever get to real warfare. Beautifully rendered snow, rain, fog, and smoke, combined with dynamic lighting and shadows, make this the most intense WWII first person action title yet.

Call of Duty 2 will soon be available for preorder through Aspyr’s website for only $49.99. Call of Duty 2 is rated “T” (TEEN – blood, mild language and violence) by the ESRB.

  1. Its not a matter of whether or not I want the game, its the fact that this marks the beginning.

Huge game titles coming out for Mac the same fiscal year they’re released for PC.

More to follow. And THAT is what will bring switchers.

  2. Cool. The graphics are supposedly stunning.

BUT, from what my buddies on some CoD: United Offensive servers tell me, the multiplayer game play stinks. What saves it is that the single player mode is MUCH better than CoD or CoD: UO.

    Appropriate MDn Magic Word: BLOOD!

  3. “Wow, I’m speachless.
You mean it’s more immense? More intense? AND more realistic?
    OMIGOD, I am so excited!!
This is exactly what the kid’s need.”

What the kids need is parenting. That’s has not been happening in the past 20-25 years. THAT is the real problem. It isn’t video games, rock music, movies, Stern, Judas Priest or TV, it’s lack of parenting.

    Period.

Parent your kid and you don’t have to worry about any of those other things at all.
