There is a new Apple store being built at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, Massachusetts. But I couldn't find out when it would open.

Dec 16, 04 - 08:50 pm Comment from: Peter

What?! No new Apple Store in California? C'mon, Apple, I have to drive 20 minutes to the closest Apple Store! That's just too far! Can't you put one closer to me, pleeease?

I have a spare room in my basement... It'd be perfect for a mini store...

Most likely the thinking in Cupertino is that in the cousin-humpin' redneck states, folks are far too busy protesting abortion, while cheering every bomb that wipes out an Iraqi maternity ward, to do much high-tech shopping. Far too busy complaining about how gays are Ruining Marriage, while gleefully divorcing their third spouse, to do much high-tech shopping.

Not to put too fine a point on it or anything.

Dec 16, 04 - 09:46 pm Comment from: Eric24601

We need more branches in New York City. It's the only place that counts. All the other riff raffs from other cities or states are used to driving an hour or more to get to anywhere.

Hey SumGuy,

Not everyone here is a bomb supporting, anti-gay, pilgrim. I, and many other local film professional have been waiting for an AppleStore to reach SLC for a while.

Overgeneralization is a bad, bad thing to do.

Dec 17, 04 - 01:25 am Comment from: Kevin

A store in Appleton, Wisconsin would do nicely, thanks.

Dec 17, 04 - 03:04 am Comment from: Bill Gates

Dec 17, 04 - 03:14 am Comment from: DaddySteve

Can we get one in Garden Grove, CA? I have 3 to choose from but they are all 25 minutes away!

Dec 17, 04 - 04:03 am Comment from: Peter

"Can we get one in Garden Grove, CA?"

If they put one in my basement, though, that'd probably be 10 minutes away. Another vote for Peter's basement! cheese

Northwest Indiana would be a great place for an apple store. Come on Apple, we don't have any local dealers here either. Illinois is too far and too expensive.

Dec 17, 04 - 12:53 pm Comment from: Al

Are there any in the red states?

Dec 17, 04 - 12:57 pm Comment from: Dave

How about Wahoo, NE? It's the home office fer cryin' out loud! (yes, I know that's an old reference)

Dec 17, 04 - 01:42 pm Comment from: Sum Yung Gai

Thedork, I know that overgeneralization is a "bad bad thing to do," but there's a difference between generalizing and overgeneralizing. Generalizing is one of the basic precepts of science. Without generalization, there can be no knowledge. Gravity pulls. That's a generalization. Overgeneralization, on the other hand, is the unwarranted extrapolation of generalization, and is one of the basic precepts of prejudice.

I didn't mean to imply that everybody in, say, Kentucky, is a redneck. That would be prejudicial. But it IS true that Kentucky is a redneck state. That's just an observation.

grin

Don't feel bad that you live in a redneck state. That doesn't make you a redneck. Believing that Jesus Christ was a gun-totin' American capitalist, THAT would make you a redneck.

Some arrogant New York asshole wrote "We need more branches in New York City. It's the only place that counts. All the other riff raffs from other cities or states are used to driving an hour or more to get to anywhere."

After 911, my cousin, a firefighter, and apparently a "riff raff", left his home in one of those insignificant "other" places, and went to New York to help the people of New York in their time of tragedy. But the next time another 911 happens in New York, I think the New York hotshots are going to be on their own.

Looks like someone is still stinging from the November elections. Your pain is music to my ears.

Yeah Canada is as High on Apple's list as Cuba or Haiti or Afganishan
iTMS only took a year and a half longer, iPod Mini 8 months later, Apple stores, what has it been 2 or 3 years...correct me if i'm wrong

And of course the first store is in Toronto, 'the centre of the universe', our pathetic equilavent to N.Y.

Don't cash in on the 911 is passe and in bad taste.
On 911 taxi drivers taxied, cooks, cooked and firefigthers fough fires. Your cousin went to New York because that is where his job took him. If a taxi driver or a cook died on that day doing their job are they not 911 heros?. Chill out and move on.
