Apple today debuted three new iPhone ads on TV and their Apple.com website which highlight various iPhone features.

I wish I could have one in Montana.

Without an out-of-state number and roaming charges.

I like these ads because they explain a real world situation, but they don't make as compelling an argument as the "I'm a Mac" ads that we all love.

All of a sudden, I have the urge to slip into a tutu...

Well I'm in the UK so I haven't got an iPhone (yet) but I must say my iPod touch is AMAZING. So easy to use, so powerful, I shudder to think how much more useful this little device is going to become when the SDK is released.

Just one thing Steve, please please please put Mail, Google Maps and Stock Checker onto the touch. I want them so bad!

For iPhone Revison V.*until they get it right*

1: Unlocked
2: Universal Signal Type
3: 3D GPS
4: LOTS OF STORAGE, preferably flash based.
5: Larger screen
6: Duo Core processor
7: 4 GB RAM
8: Better camera, at leat 10 megapixel 10x zoom
9: VOIP, iCHAT etc.
10: Full apps
11: Connectability/output for external monitors and devices
12: Longer battery life

So basically I want a sub-compact touchscreen computer/phone that fits in a large pocket or waist strap/fanny pack.

I'll take the weight and price to get a device like this. Something I can carry around all the time, instead of a laptop.

Oct 18, 07 - 09:41 am Comment from: Free Advice

Apple is really being aggressive with the iPhone, hope it's selling well. Most people really only want a cheap disposable phone that makes calls.

1: VLC is a free Open Source program that will play lots of media files. You don't need to download the insecure Microsoft Media player and you shouldn't play such media through a browser due to security issues. Download it using control *click link* and open it in VLC.

2: NeoOffice J is a free Open Source Office package for Mac OS X, which files are compatible with microsoft's and PC's.

3: Carbon Copy Cloner is free and can clone whole drives (even boot drives) to another blank drive which one can then "option boot" off of.

The quick trigger idiots who criticized Apple for not being racially diverse in their advertising are frantically searching for something else to complain about. I have complete faith that they will.

Oct 18, 07 - 09:51 am Comment from: grok

Still, I think you're going to be waiting for a while...

I've had my iPhone since the day it came out, and I don't think I've been as pleased with a gadget since I gave up the boat anchor and bought my first mac.

@ Still Waiting... LOL!!!

Oct 18, 07 - 09:56 am Comment from: TowerTone

More free advice.
That stuff in the bathroom is not just a cardboard toy with a lot of wrapping paper. I use it to wipe Windows off of my thumb drive....

@ Still Waiting

You forgot to specify 10x Optical zoom!

Oct 18, 07 - 10:11 am Comment from: ByeTakeCare

The "Delay" is the coolest one. Showing a real world scenario. And the touch screen multi-touch. Nice.

Oct 18, 07 - 10:42 am Comment from: MacMarc

Ken is kinda cute! I'm glad they finally got a gay guy! LOL

Oct 18, 07 - 11:38 am Comment from: Just one thing

Google YouTube... the tiny scroll menu with the reflections.

This is very similar to APPLES Dock.

Do you think Apple should sue?
I have seen this method used else where and it was done with magnification like the default of Apples OSX 10.4 Dock.

Ok no one cares.
But I think Apple should since they are pairing up with Google these days.

"So basically I want a sub-compact touchscreen computer/phone that fits in a large pocket or waist strap/fanny pack."

OK, so either you were making a really good funny or you're never going to get laid. My advice, get rid of the fanny pack.

Wow, that black curtain might be a sign of a coming new MacBook -right...?

Oct 18, 07 - 11:53 am Comment from: QuickDraw McGraw

Nice ads, but this new Nokia N95 8GB commercial in Youtube is nifty (tho the phone is not):

Oct 18, 07 - 12:04 pm Comment from: The Other Steve

Is it just me? Apples new iPhone ads on their web site don't work on my iPhone.

Just got mine yesterday. Even after all the hype I've read and heard, I'm still blown away by the thing!!!

Oct 18, 07 - 12:04 pm Comment from: tony

iweathr is tons better then weather.com. why wouldn't apple use one of the many webapps designed for the phone instead of the crummy mobile version of weather.com?

@ Still waiting

Fulfillment of your wish list is on its way, in about a decade. smile

Oct 18, 07 - 02:22 pm Comment from: Jooop

Is it just me? I hate all three of these people.

Oct 18, 07 - 02:24 pm Comment from: Cubert

TowerTone,
"That stuff in the bathroom is not just a cardboard toy with a lot of wrapping paper. I use it to wipe Windows off of my thumb drive...."

Don't you mean "wipe a Zune off of my thumb drive..."?

Oct 18, 07 - 02:55 pm Comment from: MacSmiley

@Quickdraw...

I don't see anything special about the N95 commercial. Nothing to compare with Apple's original iPhone ads.

Oct 18, 07 - 07:35 pm Comment from: Hentercenter

@Still Waiting

cant tell if youre serious or not... are you freakin serious?

if you are serious, then wow...

if youre not, ok thats pretty funny

Oct 18, 07 - 07:36 pm Comment from: wow

I just want the ballet dancer smile

Oct 18, 07 - 10:13 pm Comment from: close, but not quite

OK, so Apple did get a black guy, a woman, and a gay "artist" in this set of ads. Still no Eskimos, or trans-genders. PROFF that Apple still has a ways to go before they can call themselves as not being discriminatory.

Who GIVES A SHIT?

Ballerina? Broadway producer?
You think THIS appeals to the average Joe?

ALthough I suspect that post was in fecetiousness (is that a word?)
