“I’ve had the new 11-inch iPad Pro with Smart Folio and Apple Pencil for about 24 hours, so I figured I would share my initial impressions of the device,” Sébastien Page writes for iDownload Blog. “It is super thin and feels lighter than the 10.5-inch iPad, although it is not.”
“I really like the perfect bezel symmetry around the screen. There is no forehead or chin on this device. The bezel is the same all around, which gives much more visual balance to the entire device,” Page writes. “Speaking of balance, it feels like the center of gravity of this device is right in the middle of the Apple logo on the back. It might very well be. This perfect balance is not something you consciously notice, but it probably makes your iPad usage much more comfortable.”
“Because there are so many magnets inside the iPad, you can actually attach your Pencil on several locations on the back of the device. This isn’t always pretty, but it’s still convenien,” Page writes. “Having the Pencil attached to the back of the iPad also makes it easier to grab the iPad when it’s lying flat on a surface.””

MacDailyNews Take: It’s strange that Page is reaching for the Home button out of habit, since he’s been used to swipe gestures as an iPhone X user, but the human brain is a funny thing and perhaps it’ll take awhile for some to decouple “Home button” from “iPad” when going through the learning process. With iPhone X we forgot about the home button on the first day and couldn’t;t wait for iPad to shed it, too!

Note the author of the original article here also states “I didn’t mention anything about the OS because, well, it’s impossible for me in its current state to do real work on the iPad. Everything I do work-wise on the iPad feels more tedious than on my Mac. As a matter of fact, I can’t think of one thing I can do better or faster on my iPad.”
Well, this is Business Insider talking about an Apple product, what did you expect. He complains that the Pro is more expensive than the $500 iPad he originally bought ignoring the much improved $329 iPad.
BusinessInsider is indeed a hotbed of intern-penned poorly researched “things you need to know” bullshit articles. However, in this case, they are correct. Almost every respected publication has correctly identified that iOS, even with the overpriced accessory keyboard, is inferior to Macs in many important ways.
For Facebook and web surfing, or doodling, reviews are generally positive. For workflows that most people do, it’s a train wreck.

You basically have to buy an Apple Pencil and a Smart Keyboard Folio to get the most out of the iPad Pro, and that drives the price quite high
The ugly
iOS still isn’t designed to support using an iPad as a true laptop replacement
There just aren’t enough pro apps for iOS to take advantage of this hardware—not even from Apple itself

In my opinion, this is what happens when a company now is run by people who refuse to listen to what their customers want and need. Apple is a fashion company, and is more interested in artists and media rental consumers than mainstream workers. Amazing chips aren’t enough. Software and hardware flexibility and interoperability are not there. The Mac and the PC are vastly better choices for getting stuff done for most people.
Full disclosure: after trying to find the iPad a useful tool, I gave up and donated it to Goodwill. I see zero reason to relive the limitations again.
I wonder what Apple will do with regular iPad next and if it will be mid-2019 refresh.
iPad 9.7″, all-screen with smaller body ?
iPad 10.x or whatever screen would fit in the current body if it were all-screen ?
More and more I find these Pro devices which I really I wanted are just way too overpriced for being nothing more than larger faster iPads. Its really sad. If they were not so overpriced all the criticism I am hearing would vanish and they would sell alot more of these things.
