“‘There’s a rumor that Steve Jobs was on a massive dose of LSD at the time of death,’ Fisher told Cheddar,” Teich writes. “Fisher also details the animosity Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak had towards Jobs. Apparently said Woz blew off the memorial service and said, ‘Jobs couldn’t make a computer to save his life.'”
“The book further delves into the early days of Facebook, where the beer and sex were as ingrained in the culture as coding, and Google, whose revenue stream originally was highly dependent on searching for porn,” Teich writes. “‘That was kind of the business model at the very beginning,’ Fisher said.”

If Jobs was on LSD while dying, good.
Denying people drugs that may provide comfort while they pass away is just stupid, ignorant and cruel.
Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World, died the same day as JFK, so his passing was barely noticed.
Huxley reportedly took a big dose of LSD on his deathbed.
Even if Jobs went out tripping, not sure that’s the way to go. In some mystical paths, drugs are discouraged because they distort our ability to deal with the Bardo state. He would have known that, having been associated with Zen Buddhism.
Hope the book has genuine reporting, but I won’t hold my breath. Sex and guns and drugs sell more books.

What difference does it make if Steve could or couldn’t make a computer? Makes no sense at all; so, I highly doubt Woz would say something so ludicrous as a reason not to go to Steve’s memorial service.
Yeah and conversely Woz “couldn’t sell a computer to save his life” the way Steve did. It’s no secret Woz had the technical know-how in the beginning and Steve saw the opportunities, had the vision and knew how to present it. Each had a role to play. Steve Jobs did not have to be Tony Stark.
So exciting to see applecynic and GoeB such influential parts of Silifon Valley! They’re still just as influential today.
News flask Woz, all Steve had to do was promote them. There is no one better at it than he was. It took a creator and a promotor for Apple to become what it was. The face of Apple was as important as the hardware….maybe more so.
