“If you ever wondered just how popular jailbreaking remains, then here’s a statistic that should drive the point home,” Oliver Haslam reports for Redmond Pie. “As of writing these words, a total of 110,638 devices have been successfully jailbroken since the Electra 1131 jailbreak was released just a few days ago.”
“This number comes from a counter that can be seen on the Electra website (coolstar.org/electra) and shows that there are still plenty of people who are willing to jailbreak their iOS device for all manner of different reasons,” Haslam reports. “”
“While jailbreaking was hugely popular for a time, its pull had started to wane as Apple continued to implement more and more features into stock iOS that had previously been the purview of jailbreakers,” Haslam reports. “As the new Electra iOS 11.3.1 and iOS 11.4 jailbreak numbers show, there is plenty of demand for the latest jailbreaks out there… We’ll see how users’ resolve holds up when iOS 12 ships later this year, however, with its new features likely to cause some to ditch their jailbreak in order to check out the new hotness.”

Considering the actual number of iPhone’s the number is a pittance. I wonder how many of these people wind up with bricked devices, and I still don’t see any need in the slightest for whatever they think they are getting out of a jail broke iPhone other than less security and more instability..
The fact that they know this stat blatantly says they are sending some form of data. How can you know what else has been captured. No thanks. Removing the security of the iPhone for the sake of stolen/pirated apps and gimmicky UI changes is for the foolish and likely unsuccessful. People who are successful enough can afford to pay apps and have enough assets accessible from their phones to protect it with Apple’s security.

They specifically used the phrase “devices have been successfully jailbroken” which says a LOT more than just “copies have been downloaded”. But, then again, folks concerned with security aren’t jailbreaking their devices. SO there’s likely to be NO people performing the jailbreak that are concerned about the fact that they can make this statement.
I’m glad Apple users are willing to pay more for an app and has no protection especially since they voided there warranty. They open themselves to companies who can upload bad code and steal all there information just like window users. So have fun…
What else is new so pay more for your apps and become Windows users with no protection. Apple is such a hard company to deal with…You guys are sounding the window users that steal software, music, video and thinks it’s ok, so good luck.
