“Those who attempted to use Apple Maps this morning during their commutes were met with a frustrating situation — Apple’s navigation app hasn’t been working properly for much of the day. Problems appeared around 7am PT/10am ET, resulting in errors when users searched for route directions and for specific locations,” Valentina Palladino reports for Ars Technica.
“The message ‘Directions not available — route information is not available at this moment’ appears when searching for directions, and searching for specific places like ‘Penn Station’ or ‘JFK Airport’ yields a ‘No results found’ message,” Palladino reports. “The outages affect all forms of Apple Maps, including those on Apple Watches and in vehicles with CarPlay, for users across the US, Canada, and other countries. ”
Palladino reports, “Apple has acknowledged the outages on its System Status support page.”

Yet another reason for sd cards. I have the whole world on Here Maps on sd….
You’re living in the 00’s dude. Nobody wants to have maps on sd cards. While you’re at it your floppy disks want to play too.
BigZ would rather pay month fees to rely on a cellular service rather than having a reliable map that works offline. Okay. Pay more and give Big Brother all the power if you want to. It’s your life. I can’t even count all the times i’ve bailed out lost people in the mountains who had no way to navigate when their cell phones lost connection.
Then you’re not even there. I can use maps even without an internet connection. Your several steps back from that. Some future!
Excellent point and one I have never thought of when internet is out of reach …
I’ve never stopped bitching about absence of removable storage.
Removable storage is also replaceable storage.
Put a couple of movies on a removable disk, watch them on an airplane, the desert, on a submarine, whatever. Just when you would need them.
Streaming is expensive, wasteful, slow and unreliable.
Exactly right. Apple under Pipeline is now the greedy company…
GOOGLE Maps users not affected…
This time…

I never use Apple Maps, it’s a mess. Also, I never use Apple Pay or Apple Cash… again nobody even knows what the hell those are and you look like a complete dork at the checkout line. Google Maps… nobody comes close. Apple should relinquish the maps app altogether.
Not even going to engage with you… Clearly you are an idiot!
You must be the only one who looks like a dork while you fumble around and try to use Apple pay……a first grader could do it….
Apple Pay, or Apple Maps, won’t work on your candy bar phone.
That’s okay, Apple. I’m staying at home today and watching the US Open.
But I will be leaving the house tomorrow! Please fix by then!
WEll, probably get flamed but….TGF Google Maps!
With Apple Nav out they probably got to the right place on time.
Or in other words, just another day with Maps let alone Siri
