“With the release of iOS 11, Apple nixed its built-in integration with Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and Vimeo, a feature that allowed iPhone and iPad users to store their third-party account information and access it within apps that needed to use those services,” Tim Hardwick writes for MacRumors.
“Apple has yet to remove the equivalent feature from macOS, although this is likely to change in a future version,” Hardwick writes. “In the meantime, this article shows you how to manually remove third-party accounts like Facebook from your Mac, which some users may find a germane step in light of the recent data scandal.”
Hardwick writes, “Note that the following guide only deletes associated third-party accounts at the system level of your Mac – you’ll still be able to access your Facebook account and related data by logging into Facebook.com (where you can delete your account permanently) or via the official iOS app, for example.”

We use FaceBook as an RSS feed. Our CMS automatically reposts our article headlines and links them back to our website. That is our only interaction with Facebook and has been our only interaction with Facebook for years. We deleted our personal accounts [which we opened only so we could understand the Facebook phenomenon] many years ago.
If you want to share photos and videos with friends, text them using Apple’s end-to-end encrypted iMessage service. You need to control your social networking, not cede it to a gatekeeper like Facebook. – MacDailyNews, March 19, 2018

How about security-compromised, overly saturated ads and memory-suckers like MDN? And the “Notch” bothers you? Take a look at your page! Reminds me of an old Windows PC plastered with stickers and other assorted garbage. Is this mess functional for you? Not for anyone else, I assure you.
MDN needs to get its shit together. Their website is horrible and their app is even worse. They have no business comment on tech issues if they can’t even produce a half decent website.
I complained bitterly when this social media crap got baked into the Apple OSes. It only took Apple half a decade to wake up. Stop the OS bloat already Apple!!!! Apple should implement tools into the OSes for the user to block datamining from any social media company. Of course, that would require Apple to care about user privacy and security. Timbo talks a big game but just can’t seem to get around to acting on it. The user agreement tells it all — Apple doesn’t really value user privacy and security when you read it in black & white printed legalese.
