“Apple has once again partnered with Instacart to promote Apple Pay, enabling free delivery for people who order groceries through Instacart’s iPhone and iPad app,” Roger Fingas reports for AppleInsider.
“The new deal is valid through the end of February, but has some restrictions,” Fingas reports. “Shoppers must for instance spend at least $35 in the app, and other fees still apply. That includes any ‘busy’ pricing during peak delivery times.”
Fingas reports, “Typically every Instacart order includes a $5.99 delivery cost.”

There’s a good chance of that. If you’re really into getting the most bang out of your buck it’s hard to beat the current deal with the Freedom card in combination with Samsung Pay that gives you Samsung points you can use for redeeming gift cards. I think Apple should implement something similar to encourage more Apple Pay converts. Especially now that Visa cards have a simple tap to pay chip in new cards. It’s being heavily promoted during the Olympics on TV. No sliding or insertion of card into the POS needed.
I received an announcement of this FREE trial from Apple. I ordered some groceries and was charged an extra $20. When I contacted the Instacard people by email, they said that there are sometimes extra charges added for certain stores. They refused a refund, even though this was promised as a free trial.
We will not be using them again.
The beauty and ease of ApplePay on the Applewatch in reward in and of itself … for me… love the thing.!
