“Apple has informed developers today that all new apps submitted to the App Store from April 2018 must support the iPhone X’s Super Retina display,” Benjamin Mayo reports for 9to5Mac. “This means developers of new apps must ensure they accommodate the notch and go edge-to-edge on the 5.8-inch OLED screen.”
“Apple has not set a deadline for when updates to existing apps must support iPhone X natively,” Mayo reports. “From April, all new apps must also be built against the iOS 11 SDK.”
Mayo reports, “In recent years, Apple has enforced rules more aggressively when it comes to supporting the latest devices.”

Another fake news headline. Apple have actually asked developers to support the Super Retina display. Whilst that includes the notch, Apple does not specifically say that. GET OVER THE NOTCH everyone – including MDN.
This tells me that the stupid notch is here to stay.
Well of course, until they figure out how NOT to have the notch. Not rocket science and no big deal.. I don’t even notice the notch anymore.. Now software issues……. Yeah, get moving Apple and fix your crappy software which is getting worse every day.
The notch is a permanent and glaring reminder of failed design.
Come on. Do you really believe that?????? The notch will go away as soon as they figure out how to do it.. 1, 3, or 5 years who knows..
