  1. Unless Apple can get their service onto game consoles, streaming blu-ray devices, smart TV’s, and streaming devices like the Roku, Amazon Fire, nVidia Shield and others, their market size and thus the overall market share will be small.

If Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and others are on THOUSANDS of devices, can any streaming service from Apple compete with only offering the service on the Mac, iOS devices, AppleTV and perhaps the watch?

    1. What you say makes sense, but Apple users are where the money is. Maybe, just maybe, if the content is good enough it will move users of other devices over to Apple hardware. In my heart, I know that’s a stretch but still even supporting just Apple products, Apple could still make money. It sure doesn’t seem likely Apple will support very many devices, if any, outside of the Apple platform.

  2. A sign of cluelessness. Money. that’s all you’re seeing. Console? We just got a new. (Our fifth) Xbox S that does everything for less than my fourth Apple TV that barely (for more money) does anything. We have Nintendo and ps too.

But why should Apple enter the tiny Gaming market when so many great games are available as apps from the App Store. My favorites are checkers and sudoku. Don’t let me forget minesweep. Oh yeah. Candy crush.

  3. And they all report to Clueless Eddie Cue.

Development execs are a dime a dozen and one hit does not predict another. For every Aaron Spelling, James Brooks or Norman Lear there are countless one hit wonders and even more wannabes. There was only one Paddy Chayefsky.
