“Two Reddit users declared on Wednesday that as Amazon employees, they had access to the beta of Amazon Prime Video for the Apple TV,” Mike Wuerthele reports for AppelInsider. “One user provided what is purported to be a screen shot of the app on the home screen.”
“AppleInsider has confirmed independently that the beta program is ongoing, and has been so since July in one form or another,” Wuerthele reports. “Previous Reddit posts claimed that Amazon was planning on a September or October release date. However, both previous reports claimed that corporate politics were likely the reason for the release hold-up.”
Wuerthele reports, “Apple CEO Tim Cook announced at the WWDC that Amazon’s video streaming service would be available on the Apple TV in 2017.”

Interns, what’s job one? That’s riiight: TTK!
Prost, everyone!
Translation:
Dream on suckers, Forgetaboutit.
Yeah right, Its not in beta testing
Apple & Amazon are still arguing about money.
Feels like Amazon has the upper hand. Apple TV would become significantly more attractive to Apple owners already using Amazon Video on a different device. In contrast Amazon would possibly gain a smaller bump in Amazon Video users since Apple owners that already use Amazon video will simply consolidate to ATV. Relatively few ‘new’ users may be acquired.
Ok I spit out my drink watching that Grand Tour video 😂😂😂
A lot more watchable for a larger audience than “Planet of the Apps” to be sure. 😀

There’s no way Amazon will release it by Christmas, they want to sell as many Amazon TVs as they can.
er, I mean Amazon Fire TVs
Well, at least we will see Amazon’s Apple TV app before we see Trump’s tax returns. 😉

and then you will have Amazon Video.
As much as I am an Amazon fanboy, first and foremost the Apple ecosystem is central to my home entertainment. It has hosted cutting the satellite “cable” for our household. But, as easy as AirPlay is, it doesn’t come close to switching from Vue to an Amazon app on the aTV.
Frankly, I find myself looking for acceptable content on Vue or other existing apps authorized via Vue or Apple and I’m doing well enough. The return of one or another Amazon series – or the debut next month of Electric Dreams – will move me; but, that’s not the level of viewership a full-on tvOS app will produce.
If it ever shows up.
