Apple has eliminated the gender pay gap globally

“Apple said Thursday that it has eliminated any gender pay gaps globally and has also continued to increase the number of women and underrepresented minorities in its workforce over the past year,” Ina Fried reports for Axios.

“Half of all new hires are from underrepresented groups,” Fried reports, “according to a newly updated diversity Web site.”

“White and Asian men still make up the majority of Apple’s workforce,” Fried reports, “but the company has increased its diversity each of the last four years, both across the company and among its technical workers and leadership.”

        And “our diversity is our greatest strength” pretty much says the exact same thing as the “unauthorized” email, just in less overt tones.

  2. So.. apple was violating the law? Because for many years, it is ilegal to pay differently based in gender, religion or race. As per hour basis, it is ILEGAL to make any differentiation based on any of those factors.
    So Apple is just catching up? or is this one of those Tim Cook’s sjw moves?
    GO AND BE AN APPLE CEO! Honor Steve Jobs who made you rich and powerful. If you want to became politician, get a new CEO and be what you want to be and don’t drag apple into your garbage talks.

      You have made it perfectly clear that you don’t give a flip how Apple treats its employees. My bet is that Apple employees—including the employees who aren’t white male geeks from Stanford—do care, and that their perception of whether they are being treated fairly directly affects their loyalty to the company. That, in turn, affects their productivity.

      Tim Cook thinks that promoting employee loyalty IS a part of his job. You disagree. Apple does not believe that exploiting its employees will get you better products cheaper and faster. You disagree. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but try not to express it so offensively.

  3. We should be hiring based on merit, not race, gender, creed or culture. Who says the same % of women in the population want to be engineers? Should the NBA hire to match the population?
