MacDailyNews Take: It’s snappy!
I guess people are still having battery issues. Even though my IP7 has calmed down, the difference in battery drain between iOS 10 and iOS 11 is notable. Any before anybody tells me to turn of this and that, screw that. I should be able to use this phone with everything on, full functionality, and not be hobbled by some programming glitch. Apple should fix it pronto.
I’m having battery issues as well on my 7. Sometimes it literally drops by 1% per minute. Any sort of video playback seems especially draining. Videos now also occasionally repeat several seconds of playback, as well as sometimes going completely black. I know they’ve done a lot of work on video playback this time, so perhaps there are some corner issues they’re still sorting out.
I have a brand new iPSE-128 and the battery life is way outperforming my old iPSE-64.
This worked for me: Settings > General >Reset > Reset All Settings. After that my battery is back to normal with no huge battery drains.
Any 6s owners out there using iOS 11 and finding it trouble free? I’m getting to the point where I may download it if most of the launch issues have been ironed out? thanks in advance
my 6s worked fine with 11.0-11.0.2 so far. animations feel more “fluid”, I got a few hundred MB memory back, and no problems so far.
no change in battery life.
Thanks, good to know. Is the battery holding up ok as well?
absolutely. I charge only every other day. but then again, I’m not using it heavily. Navigation is the strongest battery drain. When I use it, I have to charge before and after. But that’s always been that way.
Definite decrease in battery life in my everday usage. In iOS 10 I’d be at 70-80% in the middle of the day, in iOS 11 it’s low 50s.
Working fine here with mine and 3 co-workers.
6s Plus works great—especially where battery is concerned. my only issue is with random wifi drops… that said, it could be my lovely service provider (Rogers)
Any 6s owners out there using iOS 11 and finding it trouble free? I’m getting to the point where I may download it if most of the launch issues have been ironed out? poor battery performance is what concerns me the most. Thanks in advance
Opps, connection problems, please excuse my duplicate message.
I am on iOS10 on my 64GB SE and happy with it, no plans on getting iOS11. The control center Wifi and bluetooth functionality on Ios 10 is logical
iOS 10 wifi and bluetooth control centre buttons definitely more logical; however, since I almost never disable those, it wasn’t a reason to hold me back from updating to iOS 11.
Logical? By not performing the way you expect it to? Apple’s updates often take major steps backwards, as is the case with the Podcast app which no longer allows you to play episodes in sequence, you have to manually play each subsequent episode. For all the good Apple has done, they sure are unresponsive as hell to their users, until the anger boils over.
It sure seems that way. By acting the way they do, they are unwittingly teaching users to be adversarial, — that lodging angry complaints works better than polite feedback.
Maybe it’s the oblivious millenials they hired, or an ossified leadership, I don’t know. It may be the immense scale of their enterprise that deadens their sensitivity to users, who knows? I do know that Apple no longer knows what’s best; and they appear not to know that.
Yeah. I am pissed about this. It basically destroys the functionality. I commute close to an hour each way and, previously, I could just hit advance and it would go the next episode. Not anymore. who the hell decides things lie this are “improvements”?
Beyond this the entire UI is worse than before. I accidentally deleted an entire show with dozens of saved episodes because I thought I was just removing an episode. The placement of “Delte” was at the top of the list, as if deleting entire podcasts is a frequent occurrence when this option has always been at the bottom and followed by a prompt asking if you’re sure. It’s also not clear which episodes are saved and where. There used to be a “saved episodes” area, but now I just see “downloaded episodes”. Way to ruin a good app Apple. One guy on the Apple message board I subscribed to on this topic talked to 12! different people about this with no resolution, despite promises from half of them to “take ownership” of the issue.
iPhone 7 here. iOS 11.0.2. Heavy user. No real problems, no real suprise besides some weird UI/UX decisions from Apple.
Have not had ANY battery issues on my iPhone 7+ with any version of IOS11, as I’ve noted elsewhere, its no different now than it was with IOS10.
Since I updated my iPhone 7 to iOS 11, the only issue I’ve noticed (and it’s still there) is crackling sounds while listening to music and playing solitaire.
Was actually released yesterday.
