Apple’s online store is currently offline, displaying the familiar message that often, but not always, precedes new product additions:

Apple is scheduled to hold a special media event today at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT in Cupertino at the new Steve Jobs Theater.

  3. Apple’s gross revenue is 215 billion per year. Let’s assume just a quarter of that comes directly from the website. It is probably higher than that. So 215b * 0.25 / 365/24 = over 6 mil per hour. Down two hours 12 mil. Chump change……
