Twitter users love genius iPhone trick that makes your music play louder

“There are plenty of DIY tricks for boosting the volume on your cellphone, but iPhone users have always had the power to make their music sound louder by adjusting their settings — and they probably didn’t even know it,” Erica Tempesta reports for The Daily Mail.

“A Twitter user known as TheBae took to social media over the weekend to share a screengrab of the iPhone setting he uses to make his iPhone speaker louder, and people were loving the hack,” Tempesta reports. “‘How to make your iPhone Speaker louder. (Play Music while you’re doing it) Thank meh later,’ he wrote, and his tip has already been retweeted over 84,000 times.”

“Although the hack has changed the lives of many people, it has been around for awhile,” Tempesta reports. “Lifehacker shared the trick back in 2015, and according to the site the ‘Late Night’ setting ‘tones down loud sounds and turns up quiet parts, which makes it a little easier to hear what’s happening.'”

  1. “Late night” sounds like a loudness setting that USED to be intended on hi-fis to compensate for the loss of bass and some treble at low volumes by scooping these up (EQ) more than the mids.

    1. Yep. But I looked for the hell of it.
There is Late Night and Loudness. So what is the difference?
Then there is Small Speakers and Deep??

It’d be nice to have a PDF guide from Apple for some of this stuff. They used to be great at manuals but not anymore.

    1. Or anything that will reflect and not absorb the sound. Griffin used to have an acrylic stand that did a good job of ‘amplfying’ an iPhones speaker. Now I need to go check for my newer iPhone.

  2. Another tool for blowing out your iOS device speakers for free = Boom app from Global Delight Tech. “Boom: Best Equalizer & Magical Surround Sound”. Without paying for add-ons it’s excellent for jacking up your volume. It also doubles as a sort of replacement for iTunes ‘Music’ app. The GUI has a learning curve but I like it.
